I had to clutch my mouth shut out of fear from more vocal hostage-taking. With that, I could feel his voice overtake my own as he forced himself to speak from my mouth, “Learn to throw your voice. “That’s not the only thing in my bag of tricks,” Puck replied. “I tend to not give it any thought as it’s not one of my major concerns in life,” I told him. If it was possible to sigh and groan at the same time, I was capable of doing so. “Isn’t it funny how your average radio announcer sounds nothing like how he looks?” The trickster smiled as he spoke into the mic, sounding like the radio DJ he was impersonating. Now how did the DJ know I was trying to break my alarm clock? I thought to myself, when out of the corner of my peripheral vision I could make out the silhouette of an insidious imp speaking into an old fashioned microphone wearing a pair of headphones over his jester’s cap. It’s another glorious Sunday morning here at your classic rock station, KCUP.” I leaned over to examine the device when the DJ continued, “You do not want to touch that dial or try to further damage your radio for this.” My labor proved futile as I heard the DJ announce, “Rise and shine, people of Glenberry. When I found the strength to move, I was able to yank the clock’s cable from the wall and toss it at the other side of the room hopefully to deactivate it. Each buzz from the clock felt like a dagger that repeatedly pierced my soul. It was that feeling when you’re not fully awake, but at the same time you’re not asleep either. The buzzing of my alarm clock signaled another disturbance from my lucid state of awareness.
